Processing Line for Chili Peppers
For the drying of high-quality chilies, a special processing line was developed and has already been installed and used successfully several times. The chilies are supplied to the processing line in a fully automatic dosing hopper. Then they are washed, pre-cleaned and blanched if desired. Chilis with inferior quality or possess foreign bodies are removed from the processing line during that stage.
In a cutting machine the whole pods are carefully cut into longitudinal strips or rings. Chili seeds may be screened, if necessary after cutting.
After drying on a single or multi-belt dryer, another screening operation and quality inspection can be completed. The dried final product is weighed and packed into bulk containers.
